One of the first tasks to be solved before starting to draw is choosing of point of view. Draftsman must take the most advantageous position to depict convincingly the visual image of an object interesting him. Thus, by conducting a methodological analysis of nature, following the laws of perspective, construction, lighting draftsman demonstrates through drawing the connection between the visual image and the point of view.

Одна із перших задач, яку треба розв’язати, перш ніж приступати до роботи над рисунком, – це вибір точки зору. Рисувальник має зайняти найвигіднішу позицію для переконливої передачі зорового образу предмету, що його цікавить.
Таким чином, проводячи методичний аналіз натури, дотримуючись законів перспективи, конструкції, світлотіні рисувальник за допомогою рисунка демонструє зв’язок між зоровим образом і точкою зору.
